We sat down at Barnes and Noble and I asked them to tell me their story. Elizabeth proudly explained that she made the first move. They laughed and Erik told me that he had almost given up hope of finding the right woman when Elizabeth emailed him through eHarmony.com. They fell easily into conversation and were astonished at how similar their personalities were. Having both come from previous broken relationships, they were hesitant to start down that path again... but as the weeks flew by and they spent more and more time together, they knew this was it. They were meant for each other. Calm, relaxed, and easy-going - they're both so so similar! :) Because this was the second wedding for each of them, all the bundle of nerves and stress that can occur at so many weddings was completely absent from their day. Instead, they focused on enjoying the day as much as possible; drinking in every moment with their close family and friends. :)
We started the day at the salon while Elizabeth and her girls got their hair done.
Then we headed out to the beautiful venue: Blue Horse Farm in Wisconsin.
The farm was FULL of beautiful little nooks and crannies to photograph in!
She chose Baby's Breath and Queen Anne's Lace for her flowers; two of my favorite flowers! I loved the whimsical feel it gave everything.
Their first look was so meaningful and emotional - and left both of them in tears.
We could've wandered around for hours - Elizabeth and Erik were so relaxed. :)
Cute story behind this photo: Erik and Elizabeth both LOVE the NFL Bad Lip Reading on Youtube, so when he proposed... he used an orange Circus Peanut. So guess what they had at their wedding? :)
Their bridal party was small and intimate...
And had them laughing all day long. :)
Now for my favorite part - the order of ceremony. Since their day was laid back and so beautifully simple, the front of their program was genius: "Music starts. We get married. Everyone parties."
Erik's response when he saw his bride walking towards him was priceless...
And the setting for their ceremony could not have been any more perfect. :)
Their reception was held in the nearby barn.
A beautiful, whimsical, eclectic place. :)
Scott's speech as the best man had everyone laughing and crying at the same time...
And once the formalities were over, the rest of the evening was spent laughing...
Listening to fabulous music (by the amazing Lars Carlson Music)...
Playing board and yard games...
Enjoying the cool evening...
Eating S'mores...
And enjoying the sparklers!! :)
Later in the evening, we stole them away for some sunset photos.
A time for them just to be together and soak in the final moments of their perfect day.
Elizabeth and Erik, thank you, thank you SO much for allowing me to photograph your wedding. I was thrilled to be a part of it, and we enjoyed your day immensely (especially that game of Uno!)! I hope you have a fabulous honeymoon and a beautiful happy ever after. :) Blessings to you both!
