When it snows in Kansas City, offices shut down, roads close, kids stay home from school...

And I go outside to play. 

Thankfully, these brave souls were courageous enough to join me. :) 

Not everyone was so happy about the bitter cold...

Some would have preferred nap time. 

So we snuggled together to keep warm. 

(Oh. My. Word. I want her chins. Seriously, SO adorable.)

Thankfully, not everyone shed tears...

This little inquisitive man and I climbed mounds and made snow angels together. 

Daddy even joined us for a snow ball throw or two... :) 

Afternoons like this remind me why I do what I do. 

Because let's face it: not every photo shoot will be perfection. Not every child will cooperate all of the time. And not every photo will look like it's from a magazine. 

But at the end of the day, it will be YOUR beautiful family in those photos. 

And ten years from now, you'll want to remember every one of those moments - not just the perfect ones. 

So why look for perfection when you can have reality? 

This is your reality. Enjoy it. :)

And there's always room for more.

(Except when your favorite pieces go in the vacuum. That's disappointing. And definitely not creative. Unless the superhero who gets lost in the vacuum is named Cyclone. That's a great name for a vacuum-ed superhero. But the vacuum is definitely not the best place to play with Legos. So there.)
