When the whole world fits inside your arms…

It feels easy to keep it safe and protected.

But when your whole world starts to grow up and become a lovely person all on her own…

It feels harder and harder to know how to keep her safe.

So you give affection and humility and grace and love. And pray that each day…

A few weeks ago, I got to meet some new friends and their precious one year old bundle.

With my own baby’s first birthday around the corner, it reminded me of a phrase I hear pretty often:

“The days are long, but the years are short.”

As a mom of two, sometimes the days feel reeeaaaaallly long. But it’s also true that the years fly by before you even know it.

And it was so sweet to see this simple little family drink in every moment.

Happy first birthday, little Graham! You’ve been born into a world where you’re loved by SO many. I hope you grow up to make the world a better place. :)
