I photograph a lot of families. In fact, they are my most favorite people to work with!

Give me a bunch of (usually related) people that I’ve (more often than not) never met and it’s always a recipe for success.

As your strange new photographer, I get to ask you to do things you’d normally never do.

Like snuggle with a sister.

Tackle a brother.

Or push over your grandma*! (*No grandmas were harmed in the making of these photos.)

And sometimes it’s awkward. And sometimes you hate it. But sometimes it’s fun.

And sometimes you laugh a lot too. (And then swear you’ll never hire me ever again.)

Hannah - thank you SO much for inviting me to photograph your lovely family! It’s such a privilege to meet the people closest to you and I am so grateful. Much love to all of you!!

Sometimes it’s not always obvious how kids are like their parents.

It could be the smile, the shape of the nose, or just the noise we make when we clear our throats. (That’s me!)

But in my brief time with my clients, I get to catch glimpses of the genes they share.

In the color, shape and texture of the hair.

Or the way fingers mold together.

Or maybe just the curiosities that fuel our soul.

Barb and Kris - you created a beauty of a person. She is a treasure and YOU guys are a treasure! Thanks for exploring with me, putting up with the heat, and for being people that I’m SO happy exist in this world. Love to your family!!
