Waiting.  

Waiting is the hardest part.

Dad's surgery was 12 hours.

So we counted our blessings - in the form of Lara bars...

And spent time as a family...

And used our electronic devices (thank you, Jesus, for laptops!)...

And went in search of coffee shops...

Just waiting.

Waiting until he returned.

And the best part is... he did.

Today my dad is having major surgery in attempts to remove a large cancerous tumor in his abdomen. This isn't his first surgery - his journey began about 3 years ago. These are scenes from yesterday's pre-op procedure, his recovery, and this morning's wait(with some surprise guests!) before they came to take him away. I didn't have the heart to photograph his parting... Seeing him rolled away yesterday for his procedure was hard enough.

Today has been a flurry of emotion; patience, peace, hope, worry, anxiety, and overall... waiting. To get updates, check out his CaringBridge.
