I’m always trying to invite myself over to my client’s homes to take pictures.

Even if it’s not decorated perfectly, or there’s furniture you would change or get rid of…

Or even if you’re not even sure WHERE in your house you would even take the pictures.

Sometimes all you need is your fam, your dog, a pumpkin or two, a random patch of grass, and some love.

(And I know that sounds like a Hobby Lobby sign, but it’s true.)

Jared and Amanda, thanks for inviting me and trusting me with your home! What a delight to get to see you all in your element and admire your lovely custom home. It’s always a privilege! :)

When you photograph them from tiny infants to big tall adolescents, somewhere along the way they get stuck as little kids in your mind.

And you forget that they’re taller than you now.

Or that in a few years they’ll be driving themselves around.

And then you get all weepy and sad… but then you remember.

You didn’t even raise these kids. But you’re still related. And they’re still your family. And you’ll fight ANYONE for them ANY day.

So look out, world. These kids are coming. (But with their auntie not far behind…)
