Here’s a side perk of being a family photographer for over a decade:

The little babies I started off photographing?

They’ve grown up.

They’ve grown into tall, beautiful, tender people.

With personalities, loves, hobbies, and gifts.

And FIRST OF ALL how dare they grow up so wonderful? But ALSO.

Also also also.

Aren’t these little-now-big people just the best?

Mike and Jen, I know you feel the exact same way. Your little and big people are all amazing human beings and it is really my honor to be your friends and your photographer. Love you guys!

Let me be honest for a minute.

if I’m gonna take your pictures, there will definitely be outtakes.

I will see your weird faces and your crazy hair and I will absolutely laugh at them ALL while I edit.

But you know what?

Sometimes the outtakes are my favorite parts.

I see you let go of your pretenses and good posture and pre-conceived ideas of what your photos should be. And it shows you (and me) what you really look like and how delightfully wonderful that reality is.

So I’m sorry - NOT SORRY - but since you get to keep yourself for a whole lifetime…

Just own it. In all it’s outtake glory.
