Chris + Alexa | Loose Park Engagement

Ghana and Nebraska. They were worlds apart. But somehow, they both ended up in South Korea and met at a mutual friend's going away party. He was smitten.

Chris and Alexa's story is incredibly unique. He grew up in Ghana and she grew up in a small town in Nebraska.

When they met in Korea, she thought he looked super tough and masculine.... but soon found out how incredibly soft and romantic he really is.

They stayed in touch... and fell in love.

Soccer games, walks, photos, and love letters marked their relationship...

And one day Chris got down on one knee in front  of a wall of photos that said "Will you marry me?"...

And she said yes.

I first met Chris and Alexa in March right after Sunil and I were married...

They started come to our church, joined our small group, and since then, they've become close friends!

Because their family is spread all over the world, they're having a huge marriage celebration next July 4th in Maine, and I'm SO thrilled to be photographing it!

Last week we headed over to Loose Park to spend some time documenting who they are. (And I might add... there were about 24 other photographers there as well - Chris and I counted!)

This included snuggling on a blanket...

Doggie and passport pictures...

Pillow fights!!

Flags from each country...

Matching Korean t-shirts...

And Chris's second love - soccer.

Because what type of Ghanaian would he be if he didn't love soccer? (Chris, I had to look up Ghanaian.... I hope you will forgive me...)

Chris and Alexa, I am SO thankful to have met both of you! I'm so excited for your marriage and your huge celebration out in Maine! Praying for God's blessings as you continue life together... :)
