Colton & Kelly | Edinburgh USA Wedding

I'm nervous! Those were Kelly's words. Wedding days are not for the faint of heart, and although Kelly handled the stress with ease... she couldn't wait to see the groom. HER groom. She sat quietly fidgeting - enjoying the glory of her beautiful wedding gown and the company of her closest friends. But when I looked at her and said, "Let's go!" her face brightened and the nervousness melted. The minute Colton laid eyes on her, he instantly relaxed. And although sometimes it's hard to tell what he's thinking, today it wasn't difficult at all. He was quiet - enjoying the glory of his bride-to-be and the beautiful day God had given them. Soon, he looked at his friend, his love, his secret-carrier, his bride-to-be and said, "Let's go!". Their adventure was about to begin... and it began with an aisle, a ring and a kiss.

You may remember Colton and Kelly from their engagement session here. Kelly fell in love with my photography work many years ago and just HAD to have me as their photographer. And of course... I was more than happy to oblige her. :) They had a beautiful wedding at the gorgeous Edinburgh USA, and even though it began to rain cats and dogs halfway through their day... the smiles never left their faces.

Every time I photograph a bride that wears high heels... my respect for them instantly grows. (I'm a flats girl all the way, and deathly afraid of tripping!)

I was in love with their reception room...

And all the amazing details Kelly incorporated into her tables!

Especially this cute (and accurate!) cake-topper!! :)

Colton and Kelly had their rehearsal briefly in the morning, then had some time around lunch to relax and hang out.

And as I mentioned before... Kelly was a bundle of nerves and energy!

Each one of these girls was so much fun - I felt like we all instantly became friends!

Kelly's dress fit her PERFECTLY!

Colton has been in the army for a few years, and Kelly was thrilled that he wore his uniform.

They made such an elegant and classy couple!

Kelly and Colton opted for a first look - and it made the day SO much easier.

And we had so much time to wander the grounds and get some beautiful photos!

Kelly, you are such a model... :)

Colton couldn't help but dote on his bride all day...

And it was obvious he was too captivated with Kelly to even remember we were there. :)

Two words: That. Veil.

I could've photographed it ALL day!!

Rain had been threatening all day, and I checked my weather app right as we started the bridal party photos. "Rain starting in 11 minutes"  is what it read!!

We rushed as quickly as we could before it starting pouring...

And they were all super attentive and gracious with us so we could get everything done.

(Side note: Yes. IDENTICAL TRIPLETS!)

We finished not a moment too soon! It started drizzling 10 minutes later (11 to be exact) - JUST as Kelly ran inside for cover.

The reception was held inside because of the rain, and the Edinburgh USA staff did a phenomenal setting everything up!

After Kelly's dad walked her down the aisle.... they had a secret handshake moment - so cool!

The ceremony was short and sweet...

And soon they were pronounced man and wife!!

The reception was full of laughter...

Tears...

And even some clear skies - enough to get some more pictures outside. :)

I adore this photo of their first dance. So close, intimate, and emotional.

And so... after much celebrating, crying, and dancing...

The night ended. A perfect day - for the perfect match. :)

Kelly and Colton, thank you thank you SO much for allowing me to photograph your wedding day! It was such a joy to see all your months (years!) of planning pay off in such a beautiful way. Thank you so much for trusting me with your memories. Love you both! :)
